Back on track... facebook storms the UK!

Hi everyone,
Sorry for the interruption of service there. I was at home in Limerick and of course the ESB decided to cut power on our street for most of the week.!
OH well back to the grindstone now. I saw some really interesting stats for
Facebook that came out on Friday. Did you know that Facebook is currently accounting for one in seven page views in the UK.

This is according to www.hitwise.co.uk. A really reliable source of online information.
http://weblogs.hitwise.com/robin-goad/2009/10/facebook_accounts_for_1_in_7_uk_page_views.html

Facebook accounted for 14.5% of all UK Internet page views during September 2009, equivalent to 1 in every 7. The social network is the second most visited website in the UK after Google UK, but because users view a much larger number of pages per visit, Facebook is the clear leader in terms of page views. It currently receives more page views than Google UK, eBay UK and YouTube combined.

UK Internet visits to Facebook increased by 86.1% between September 2008 and September 2009, and have more than doubled over the last 14 months. During September the site accounted for almost half (49.2%) of all UK internet visits to a social networking website.

Great stuff to see....I wonder what the same information looks like for the Irish Facebook site. This year they have gone over the 1 million Irish registered users of Facebook. I'm sure it is pretty high up there...incidentally how many UK registered members do you think there are?

20 million was the last number I heard from the bods at Facebook.
